Six days and counting....

Brittany, Brittany, Brittany where has the time gone by? As I looked at pictures of you today, I realized that you are the one child in your family that has had a sibling relationship with all your brothers and sister. You are the only sister Kelley really knows as a sister. Tara is his sister but also Kristi and Krystal mom.

Whereas you were there for him always. TJ and Ryan lived with your Dad in Georgia. Kelley had you and boy do you love that boy. I remember many times you were willing to take on the giants for him no matter what happened to you. He is one lucky little boy.

One of the saddest memories I have is you thinking you weren’t as good as Tara. As I told you then “this is poppycock” somehow you had gotten it into your head that Tara was “PERFECT” and you could never match up. I hope by now that I have convinced you that Tara isn’t always Perfect (maybe close) and you two are on equal footing. You each shine in different but wonderful ways.

Your relationship with TJ and Ryan is a different one. You had each other through part of your life, then they went to live with your father while you stayed in Colorado. I don’t think any of you knew this was going to happen, but your brothers did prepare you to face the world even if they didn't recognize you had grown-up. I don’t think that was their plan but TJ’s broken nose and Ryan’s Outhouse experience definitely proved that you could take care of yourself. I sometimes worry that you let others take advantage of your warm nature, but also know you will only let it go so far.

Keep on doing what you have done for 20 year and you will do just fine.

Brittany Ann Brunelle

Today I talked to my niece Brittany and realized that she is going to be 20 years old next Monday. WOW. Where did the time go? I remember this bald little baby with the biggest pair of blue eyes being only a few minutes old. Her eyes were so big and blue that I nicknamed her Baby Blue. Through the years her “blue eyes” changed to green but she will always be my Baby Blue. Brittany has the ability to make everyone around her comfortable, so people always flock to be her friend. She fights for the underdog and cannot stand to see anyone hurt on purpose or because of someone else’s stupidity/prejudice. She has a heart worth pure gold and makes sure all her family and friends know they are loved. I think I am going to take this week and dedicate it to her, each day I am going to share something special about her.

Baby Blue, you might now live a thousand miles away but will always be right next to my heart.

I will always love you.

Friends

My blog is going to be about my family, hobbies and friends. Today I am going to talk about friends. I have many dear and wonderful friends, some old and some new, some are family. My SIL is the most caring person I know. She is a Registered Nurse who is in the home health field, she is the epitome of a nurse. Her patients well being and comfort is a big deal to her, she is constantly taking classes and reading up on new treatments and care plans to help her patients. I have two nieces who have become two of my closest and dearest friends; I talked to each several times a month. I miss seeing them as they both live in a different state now, but we talk frequently about kids, recipes, work and whatever happens in our lives at that time. I have another niece who is 5 years old, she is my nurse, friend and teacher, looking at the world through her eyes is so rewarding. She is the smartest, most creative and loving person I know. (We won’t tell her brothers that).

Aside from these family friends, I have been blessed with dear friends. I am lucky that the people I work for and with are my friends. We like to get together outside the office but find it hard with each of us striving to spend time with family. When we do find time to hike, grab lunch and just hang out it is very rewarding. We are trying to find a weekend to get away and enjoy the beautiful nature God has placed on our doorstep. Recently I have found several good friends on Ravelry; we can sit on a Sunday night and talk to each other for ever. Even though we have never met it is like we’ve known each other a long time.

In the coming months, I will be blogging on new projects, getting ready for Christmas and all the wonderful (and probably not so wonderful) things happening in my life.
